Heterogeneous catalysis plays a vital role in a number of large-scale industrial operations. The first 4 chapters of this book deal with the basic principles of the science, and contain short descriptions of the physical forms in which catalysts are used and of the main types of catalytic reactor. Each of the next 6 brief chapters treats 1 major area of industrial application, and the book concludes with a timely chapter on catalysis in the control of atmospheric pollution. Designed as an introduction to this complex subject, the book should be suitable for 2nd or 3rd year chemistry students. *Tiny amount of wear to top & bottom corners of cover, but extremely minor.
