Welcome to my world. You see, I have never left my house. How could I? It has no front door, no back gate. Just me and my very scary parents. But then I find a key... and a tunnel. And stumbling through darkness, out of my house for the first time ever, I enter a world stranger than I could have ever dreamed. That's how I meet Eg, and that's how I end up in Dr and Mrs Crouchnail's Academy for Young Gentlemen and Ladies. Disappearing teachers, a power-crazed tyrant and vicious gangs out to get me - I never knew how dangerous life outside my own world could be!
Eg and Me is part of the HEROES series – created with series editor Frank Cottrell Boyce and specifically written to engage and captivate less confident readers.
An epic tale packed full of action and cliff-hangers that boys and girls will not be able to put down. A great solution for reluctant readers and encouraging reading for pleasure.
“The beginning is one of the most intriguing starts to a book that I can remember reading, chilling and mysterious. The descriptions were so vivid that at times it felt as if I was watching a film playing in my head, the build up of tension during the scene in the headmaster's office and caretaker's cupboard is excruciating. The ending is very satisfying and takes the reader full circle." Sally Atkins, St Michael’s Middle School, Dorset
“A short but absorbing mystery which opens up plenty of points for discussion with students.” Ann Clifford, Castle View Enterprise Academy, Sunderland
