Item description from seller
The book contains papers and re-commendations of the 12th International Conference of National Trusts, New Delhi, 2007. They represent the points of view of experts in heritage and allied fields drawn from many different countries, and offer a range of perspectives in considering both the heritage issues that confront us and their possible solutions. The volume is comprised of 72 papers divided into following 11 sections: Heritage and Globalisation; Conservation of Heritage in Regions of Conflict and Natural Disaster; Heritage Tourism; Funding Cooperation; The Role of National Trusts; Legislation; Heritage and Conservation Management; Urban Renewal; Heritage Education; and Intangible Heritage. The contents of the volume encompass the themes of the conference, expressed in voices from across the world, sharing a range of experiences from a wide spectrum of societies and cultures. It is this very diversity which makes for a fascinating volume, and whose value, we hope, will extend well into the future.…
