Haunted civil servant navigates politics, personal tragedy, and supernatural threats, guided by ancestral wisdom and steadfast companions.

In Hemingway Castle and the Communion of Saints, our heroine, Hemingway Castle, is far from your run-of-the-mill government employee. After weathering the unsolved murder of her husband, scandalous accusations of illegal activity, and a subsequent mental health crisis, Hemingway perseveres and returns to her work as a child protection investigator. However, her path is not easy; she is beleaguered by cruel gossip, self-doubt and a malignant entity that threatens her very existence.

Hemingway's steadfast allies in her journey are her neighbors, Joe and Tot Brantley, who are instrumental in her mental health recovery. Their wisdom and support serve as Hemingway's compass.

Emmanuel, a grandfather, generations removed, appears on the scene, providing a connection to Hemingway's past and a guide for her future. His insight and friendship aid Hemingway in honing her own innate powers which will prove vital in her struggle against the evil entity that seeks to possess her as well as destroy all she holds dear.

Hemingway's new coworker and assistant, Marvella, recognizes the extreme duress Hemingway endures through workplace hostility. Her surprising connection to Hemingway facilitates a better understanding of Emmanuel's presence and reinforces Hemingway's defenses against the demonic threat.

Hemingway's remarkable terrier, Porky, provides her with unconditional love, comfort and protection, but even Hemingway does not fathom the scope of his true powers. Porky, like Marvella, is much more than he initially appears.

Hemingway Castle and the Communion of Saints is a gripping narrative, weaving together the elements of personal tragedy, politics, and supernatural threat, punctuated by unexpected, irreverent humor.
