Item description from seller
Language: English. "About the book: "Self-Help: With Illustrations of Conduct and Perseverance" is a compelling guide offering valuable insights and practical advice for personal growth and success. This book provides guidance on nurturing positive habits, surmounting obstacles, and maintaining motivation along the journey to accomplish one's aspirations. It delivers practical counsel for self-improvement, making it a timeless resource for personal growth and development, About the Author: Samuel Smiles (1812 1904) was a British writer and advocate for government reform. While he initially supported Chartist principles, he emphasized that changing attitudes, rather than enacting new legislation, would drive greater progress. His most notable work, "Self-Help" (1859), encouraged frugality and argued that irresponsible habits were a significant cause of poverty. Simultaneously, he criticized materialism and laissez-faire governance. "Self-Help" earned the moniker "the bible of mid-Victorian liberalism" and left a lasting impact on British political philosophy. CONTENTS: Preface. .9, 1. Self-HelpNational and Individual. 11, 2.
