Everything the public knows so far about the Hell's Angels Motorcycle Club comes from the sources of police, from court records, bad Hollywood strips, and the tabloid press. Never before has the story of this unique and infamous club and one of its founding members been told so honestly and openly. Ralph "Sonny" Barger reports freely away from the liver and without regard to "Political Correctness." He does not want to excuse or defend his moving life as Chief of the Hell's Angels, the brawls, drug deals and the prison. Barger has lived what others only yearn for: a special "American Dream" without societal constraints and regulations. His autobiography is much more than narratives of bloody fist fights, drinking lags and breakneck motorcycle races. She is at once an exciting piece of America, a document about the club and its rites, about the infamous Rolling Stones concert in Altamont, the Vietnam War and the "Summer of Love."
