Item description from seller

Complete in two volumes. Pages show a few short pen marks in margins, and each volume bears a prior owner's stamp on the front fixed endpaper, repeated on the heel edge. Sewn bindings; hard covers are a bit softened at spine ends and bottom free corners, and the spine of Volume I leans a bit to the right. Dust jackets show some fading of the rosy areas on the spines, a few short, closed tears around head edges and at spine heels, a line of rippling along the top edge of volume II and the top and bottom rear edges of Vol. I, and small peels and surface wear at all spine ends and corners; nonetheless sound, and now protected in clear sleeves. One might not mind the marks so much if one knew that they were made by Peter Green. [x], 862pp., incl. index. Vol. I: 1-356, vol. II: 357-862.
