"Primarily intended for making it possible for [His Majesty's Forces] to enter into friendly relations with the Jewish Population of this country who look upon the British Forces as their best friends" (Introduction). Original printed tan wraps with price ticket to the front (75 mils incl. War costs) and publisher's adverts to the back 12x15cm. Printed by Azriel Press, Jerusalem. 64pp including b/w photos of coinage and publisher's adverts. Very good, lightly tanned, with nick to the fore-edge of the first few leaves. Undated with no edition stated, but this is promoting the New Revised Edition of Steimatzky's Guide to Palestine, 1941. Worldcat records a "Revised" edition c1941 with the same page count (National Library of Israel, GWU) and an undated 61pp edition (National Library of Israel, UNSW Canberra). Chapters are arranged thematically into: Greetings; Taxis; Asking the way; Money; Numbers; Days; Months and seasons; Festivals; Time; Weather; Hotel and rooms; Restaurant; Fruits and animals; Food and drink; Cinema; Meeting a lady; Shops; Tobacconist; Bookshop / stationer; Post Office; Clothing; Dealers in Oriental objects; Colours; Photography; Hairdresser; Bathing; Laundry; Mending and cleaning; Petrol and oil; Garage; Repairs; Health; Wounds and sickness; Military terms; Billeting; Geographical terms; Palestine and the Jews. The final section includes translations for Jewish Agency, Jewish Legion, Jewish colonisation, Balfour Declaration, National Home, White Paper, Illegal immigrants, Ex-soldiers, etc. And phrases provide information on the Jewish population, colonies, and their initiatives including Naharayeem Power Station (Rutenberg Works), branded products (eg, Tnuva Milk, Sachs Silk), the Palestine Potash Company and Palestine Electric Corporation.…

Shipping terms
SHIPPING: Domestic and international shipping is tracked and insured with UPS. This has unfortunately meant an increase in domestic rates especially, and in most cases I am absorbing some of the increase. (I have moved away from Royal Mail owing to a series of problems).
DELIVERY DEADLINES: If you have a hard deadline for receipt that is before the processing time stated on Abe, eg, if you need it to arrive urgently before you travel or before a particular event, please contact me at the time of order to advise, so options can be discussed and steps taken to ensure it gets there in time.
RETURNS: Please return any items for refund within 30 days of the estimated delivery date, and contact me first with the reason for the return to establish whether postal costs will be included in the refund. If the item is not as described, I will cover the original and return post.
