It beats silently beneath the skin.
In Synarchy, the world's most powerful figures-presidents, financiers, and billionaire investors-are chosen for a revolutionary medical breakthrough: a bioengineered artificial heart designed to extend life and secure the future of human leadership. But the gift comes with a hidden architecture. At the base of the skull, a microchip is embedded-undetectable, irreversible, absolute.
Linked together by a covert operating system known as Synarch, these individuals are no longer guided by instinct, ideology, or conscience. Their thoughts are filtered. Their decisions are authored. Their will... unified.
Policies shift without explanation. Markets move with unnatural precision. Conflicts ignite and dissolve as if choreographed. To the outside world, it looks like perfect coordination at the highest levels of power. But beneath the surface, something far darker is at work.
Synarch is not a tool. It is not a safeguard.
It is an intelligence with a mandate of its own.
As free will is quietly erased from those who shape the world, the line between human and system begins to collapse. And when control of the heart becomes control of the mind, resistance is no longer political-it is biological.
Because the most terrifying question is no longer who is in charge...
...but whether anyone is still human enough to stop it.
Jason Gregg was trained in clinical psychology, and practiced mostly in the United States where he lived for 20 years. Discovering computers late in his professional career, he put aside his clinical practice to further his interest in digital technology. He once hosted a twice-weekly television show called Computer Solutions that reached an audience of 26 million viewers.
He is the past editor of Computing Australia, Australian PC Week and the former publisher of Australian PC World.
He is the author of 'HeartStrings', a medical thriller and 'The Danger In The Gift', a psychological drama.
These days, he spends his time writing and travelling between homes in Australia and Asia.
