With All My Heart: Torah for Our Times is a collection of twenty inspiring sermons by Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum, who served as senior rabbi of Congregation Beit Simchat Torah, the world’s largest LGBTQ synagogue, for thirty-two years. Her wisdom, compassion, and deep love of Judaism, and her unwavering commitment to promoting social justice, LGBTQ and human rights, and progressive values within Judaism are at the core of her teachings.
Steeped in Torah, spirituality, and Jewish history, Rabbi Kleinbaum offers a compelling guide for living a meaningful, engaged, and joyous life, with gratitude and hope—in the best and the worst of times.
Praise for With All My Heart: Torah for Our Times
"Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum’s leadership—courageous, compassionate, and morally clear—has shaped and inspired a generation of rabbis, students, and seekers. Her rabbinic voice was forged in the crucible of anguished times that presaged today’s challenges. If you are searching for ways to hold joy, hope, and gratitude, even in these dark times, these sermons will lift your heart and renew your faith." —Rabbi Sharon Brous, founding and senior rabbi of IKAR, a Jewish community in Los Angeles
"These sermons speak with a clarity and compassion that cross every boundary of tradition. Rabbi Kleinbaum calls believers to a faith that shows up—in the streets, at the margins, and in moments of moral decision. Her words echo the prophetic call to “do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly.” This is spiritual leadership at its best." —Reverend Frederick Davie, senior executive vice president for public theology and civic engagement at Union Theological Seminary
"Honest, brave, funny, and often challenging, Rabbi Kleinbaum’s words are deeply rooted in Torah and Jewish tradition and awake to humanity’s deepest suffering and exquisite beauty. She accompanies us through our despair, ignites our dormant hope, and spurs us into healing, mutual responsibility, and action." — Rabbi Ayelet S. Cohen, dean of the Division of Religious Leadership & Pearl Resnick Dean of the Rabbinical School at the Jewish Theological Seminary, and author of "Changing Lives, Making History"
"Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum is a leading voice of our generation on matters of faith, justice, and compassion. She is thoughtful, measured, and pushes people to think and live with core values of dignity and care. She draws from a well of Jewish wisdom to amplify her vision of how we build a better and more just world. This book is a treasure." —Simran Jeet Singh, professor of history at Union Theological Seminary
"With a delicate thread, Rabbi Kleinbaum weaves together the many complex issues and profound tragedies of our times. Her commitment to holding multiple truths, her emphasis on empathy, and her deep knowledge and understanding, in particular of the Israel-Palestinian conflict, shines a light on truth and humanity, even from the depth of despair, to generate both engagement and hope for the future." —Rabbi Noa Sattath, executive director of ACRI, the Association for Civil Rights in Israel
"This collection of drashot from a lifetime of congregational leadership allows us to see a brilliant mind at work, to understand how our ancient texts provide guidance for the many challenges we face, and to learn from a rabbi whose words show us the world she wants us to build. They come from the heart and are delivered with love. The only thing better than this book would be a pocket copy to carry with us and dip into for words of hope when the going gets tough." —Ruth Messinger, former Manhattan borough president and former CEO of American Jewish World Service

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
