Review
"First, this is a critically important subject but a complex one. Most U.S. citizens, including most practicing physicians, grossly underestimate its complexity and intractability. Many articles and books about it have been written from a particular political viewpoint and are designed to stress a particular solution. There are fewer unbiased works that dispassionately analyze the problem. I agree with the author that the unique viewpoint of the practicing physician deserves a careful hearing." - James L. Bernat, M.D., Professor of Medicine (Neurology), Dartmouth Medical School
"After reading Geyman's introduction, he won my trust. His credentials as a family physician, as well as an academic physician, will appeal to his intended audience." - Steven M. Markowitz, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical College, The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center
"Dr. Geyman has provided us a clearly written and very comprehensive review and analysis of health care in the United States today. It will serve as a valuable guide for years to come." - William C. Richardson, President Emeritus, Johns Hopkins University; President and CEO, W.K. Kellogg Foundation
"HEALTHCARE IN AMERICA: CAN OUR AILING SYSTEM BE HEALED? presents a meticulous study of the problems of the American health care system and a thoughtful analysis of future directions and possible solutions. This book will be an important benchmark in the development of changes necessary for health care delivery in the United States and other countries around the world." - Professor James Rourke, Department of Family Medicine, The University of Western Ontario; Director, Southwestern Ontario Rural Medicine Education, Research and Development Unit -- Reviews
