THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO MIND-BODY HEALTH FOR WOMEN – TAKING CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE
Imagine a pill that could relieve stress, alleviate PMS, reduce menopausal hot flushes, and increase conception rates for women suffering from infertility. Mind-body medicine offers all these benefits, but unlike a pill it has only one known side effect – peace of mind.
With the increased pressures of modern-day living, women need to understand the mind-body connection. With less and less time for themselves, feelings of exhaustion, anxiety, isolation and low self-esteem are common – often leading to ill health.
However, it is possible for women to prevent illness and optimise their health – using the power of the mind. Based on the latest groundbreaking research, this vital guide will show you the positive benefits of stress management, relaxation, self-nurture and the transformation of negative thought patterns.
It includes useful case histories and a wide range of powerful techniques such as:
· meditation
· yoga
· autogenic training
· guided imagery
· cognitive therapy
· diet and exercise
'Healing Mind, Healthy Woman' also offers an effective programme for treating specific women's health problems – from eating disorders to breast and gynaecological cancers.
Alice D Domar is an assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and directs their women's health programme. Henry Dreher is a successful science and health writer.
‘'Healing Mind, Healthy Woman' is a valuable guide to both living well and to focusing the power of the mind on the special health issues of women...this book is a treasure trove of information.’
