There's nothing quite like the destruction people experience when they find out their partner has been unfaithful. Couples who are shocked, devastated, and overtaken frequently reach a deadlock in their attempts to move past their deep emotional suffering, mistrust, resentment, and never-ending arguments about the betrayal.
A potent guide for assisting couples in reestablishing trust and repairing their marriages after the crisis of discovering an affair through forgiveness and beyond comes from Mildred Kent, renowned therapist and TEDx speaker and author of the best-selling books DIVORCE BUSTING and THE SEX-STARVED MARRIAGE.
With more than thirty years of experience assisting couples in overcoming treachery and preserving their marriages, MILDRED KENT provides readers with a methodical program that will assist them in:
- Handle any painful emotions following the discovery Answer inquiries regarding the liaison.
- Discuss strong feelings without getting into arguments.
- Put an end to the relationship.
- Make reparations that are heartfelt and therapeutic.
- Overcome traumatic memories and flashbacks Restore accountability and trust.
- Make their union more solid than it was prior to the liaison. Seek pardon.
- Re-establish a sexual relationship
This book is chock-full of case vignettes of betrayed couples whose lives were shattered but who went on to rebuild and prosper. Millions more people who fervently want to get over the hurt of infidelity and rebuild their relationship will have access to the helpful guidance that she and her clients have been receiving since the release of HEALING FROM INFIDELITY.
ADVANCE PRAISE for HEALING FROM INFIDELITY: "One of life's greatest hurts and challenges is repairing a marriage after an affair. The straightforward counsel offered by Mildred Kent can help you save your marriage.
In a paradoxical way, Mildred Kent's other outstanding book, Healing from Infidelity, advocates for marital fidelity in spite of difficulties with commitment. This book will be helpful to every couple who has had an affair and therapists who wish to support them because it is full of insight from years of clinical experience, case studies that illustrate the healing process, and helpful advice for every step of the recovery journey."
Making Marriage Simple co-authors Helen LaKelly Hunt, Ph.D., and Harville Hendrix, Ph.D.

MILDRED KENT the author"For couples, this book can be used both independently and as a supplement to therapy. Both the injured spouse and the unfaithful partner will find appeal in its impartial approach. This is a "how to" book rather than a "why" book. In his book Healing from Infidelity, Mildred Kent, an ardent supporter of marriage, offers a road map for getting well.
"Respected therapist Mildred Kent guides couples through the difficult process of healing from betrayal of trust in his book Healing from Infidelity. It would be difficult for sufferers to find a more knowledgeable and experienced voice to help them rebuild their faith in relationships."
