Item description from seller

FIFTH PRINTING (1960). Paperback. Octavo. Vintage softcover edition published by the Kutztown Publishing Company. Text block is structurally complete, tight, and completely sound. Spine is uncreased and square. Covers show standard vintage shelf wear, minor corner rubbing, and light edge-toning consistent with a paper wrap of this age. Pages remain clean and crisp throughout. POETRY ESTATE PROVENANCE WITH DESK EPHEMERA:Tucked loosely inside this conservation classic is a piece of original, custom-printed yellow-lined notepad stationery belonging directly to the acclaimed avant-garde poet, translator, and anthropologist Nathaniel Tarn (1928-2024). This sheet serves as a beautiful piece of authentic desk ephemera, firmly establishing this copy's place within the working library of one of the 20th century's great nature-influenced writers. PROVENANCE NOTE: Acquired directly from the personal estate library (known as "The Bunker") of Nathaniel Tarn. This volume is part of a small, distinct group of four avian titles recovered from his collection. The others-including his personal signed 1968 copy of "A Field Guide to the Birds of Britain and Europe" and his copy of T.H. White's "The Goshawk" (also featuring his custom stationery ephemera)-are listed separately on our storefront. Combined shipping is available for multiple purchases from this estate collection. PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Dimensions: 21cm x 14cm (approx. 8.25 inches x 5.5 inches). Weight: approx. 310 grams (11 ounces). Ships securely wrapped via trackable parcel mail. NT39.
