A stormy harbor. A long-abandoned lighthouse. A ghostly secret waiting to be uncovered.
Summer break has just begun, and thirteen-year-old Noah is ready for adventure in a charming coastal town on the coast of Maine. With his sister and his best friend by his side, he expects boat rides, seaside exploring, and maybe a little harmless trouble.
But when a thunderstorm rolls across the water and a strange beam of light appears from a lighthouse that has been dark for years, Noah’s curiosity takes over. No one is supposed to be inside the abandoned lighthouse. So who—or what—is sending a signal through the storm?
As the kids investigate the eerie island and the secrets surrounding the old tower, they uncover a century-old mystery tied to a tragic night, a lost story, and a haunting legend that still lingers over the harbor. The deeper they dig, the more danger they find—and the more it seems that someone doesn’t want the truth brought to light.
Filled with hidden clues, suspicious locals, and just the right amount of spooky suspense, The Haunted Lighthouse is a middle-grade mystery adventure for readers ages 8–12 who love brave kid detectives, eerie settings, and page-turning adventures with heart.
No graphic violence or language. For fans of The Hardy Boys and The Three Investigators for a modern audience, by award-winning author Shana Gorian.
