Harrison's Reports, a Motion Picture Reviewing Service. (Sales "brochure".) Published by P.S. Harrison, Harrison's Reports, 1440 Broadway, NYC. Cover letter dated March 9, 1931. Signed by Harrison. Included here is a cover letter, plus four samples of the newsletter, each of which is 4pp long. (Includes vol XIII nos. 5, 7, 8, & 9, January/February 1931.) [+] Harrison claims here that his film reviews were unique in that they were independent, and not dependent upon advertising or interest money from movie studios or advertisers. ("Of the moving pictures produced nowadays, five out of each ten are depressing and demoralizing sex or crook stories, at lest three boresome, and only about two entertaining. The picture-attending public, having no means of knowing beforehand which are good and which are bad, go to see them all." Harrison claimed that his reports would be a benefit in helping people determine what they could see without outside influence of special interests. Rare.
