Canada's oldest independent bookstore, the People's Co-operative Bookstore Association was formed in 1945 by a broad coalition of Vancouver's progressive movements, from trade unionists and Marxists to social democrats and Christian social justice activists. Owned and operated by its member-shareholders, it is a registered co-op operating under the Co-operative Associations Act of British Columbia. Anyone can join.
Since 1983, the People's Co-op Bookstore has been located at 1391 Commercial, in the heart of The Drive. Open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, the People's Co-op offers a selection of 16,000 new and used books at its brick and mortar location, in addition to the 1,600+ offered through Abebooks. EFFECTIVE JUNE 15, 2022 WE WILL NO LONGER BE SHIPPING ORDERS TO GERMANY.
Due to the administrative / licensing requirements under new German packaging recycling regulations coming into effect July 1, 2022, we are currently unable to ship orders to Germany.
We would be happy to route orders from our German customers to a third-party freight consolidation / forwarding service. Please indicate this in the Ship-to Address fields.
