Music theory has been one of Bill Cronkrite’s life passions since he picked up his first guitar over fifty-three years ago.
Cronkrite, a professional guitarist, studio musician, and guitar teacher, shares a unique method that guides guitarists through distinctive scale and modal patterns that implement a three-note-per-string rule as opposed to traditional forms in order to increase speed and improve right-hand techniques. Within his guide, he also presents arpeggios derived from the modal patterns and basic chord forms, providing the guitarist with the necessary tools to successfully navigate any piece of music. Cronkrite’s included matrices benefit all musicians by depicting the modal progression as the columns of the matrix and chords occur naturally in each mode, providing an amazing accompaniment to the composition and improvisation processes.
Harmonic Matrices teaches a superior scale technique, modal expansion of scales, and harmonic theory for guitarists and other musicians interested in utilizing a valuable tool while composing and improvising.
