FIRST EDITION, pp. ix, 270, [2], crown 8vo, original blue boards, backstrip lettered in purple, light spotting to edges, dustjacket with a design by the author's wife, slightly chipped, nicked and creased at extremities, very good. The author was the nephew, apparently the favourite such, of Lytton Strachey (the only son of his brother, Ralph) - this is his second novel, scarce in the dustjacket (a design by his wife Frances Esmé, née Rudd), an 'ironic comedy of to-day' (blurb) set in London (indeed, Bloomsbury) and Brighton.
