This practical guide is an invaluable resource for caregivers of dementia patients. The book offers practical strategies and methods to assist you in daily life while caring for those affected by this condition. You'll find tips on how to communicate in a supportive and clear manner, how to create a friendly and safe environment, and how to manage difficult symptoms and situations. Being an informed caregiver will help you more effectively support your loved one with dementia, ensuring the highest possible quality of life while also taking care of your own needs and mental health. The book is written in simple and approachable language, making it easy for anyone to understand and apply the advice contained within.
Wiesława Pokorska - Over the years, I have gained experience as a caregiver for seniors, but it was only as a volunteer in a nursing home that I learned about dementia and Alzheimer's, while searching for effective methods of supporting people with dementia and their caregivers. I focus particularly on the later stages of the disease, which require special attention and understanding of the situation. I have observed that various sensory aids are incredibly effective in improving the comfort of life for both patients and caregivers. One of the most important aspects of my work is the art of distraction during episodes of aggression in patients. The strategies I have developed help reduce tension and restore calm, significantly easing daily care. I hope that my practical knowledge and experience will be a valuable source of inspiration for you. Through perseverance and a desire to help, I have gained a deep understanding of how best to support those in need. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to help—and to share this knowledge with others.
