Every professional conduit installation begins long before the first bend—it begins with precision.
Conduit bending is one of the most demanding skills in the electrical trade. A single inaccurate measurement or poorly planned layout can lead to wasted material, costly rework, and failed inspections. Whether you're installing EMT, fabricating rigid conduit, heat-bending PVC, or coordinating complex raceway systems, success depends on mastering both the mathematics and practical techniques behind every bend.
Handbook of Conduit Bending and Fabrication is a comprehensive, field-focused reference designed for electricians, apprentices, contractors, maintenance technicians, and technical professionals. It combines trade mathematics, conduit fabrication, NEC-aware installation practices, and real-world jobsite techniques into one practical resource that progresses from foundational concepts to advanced conduit layout, fabrication, installation, and inspection readiness.
Inside this handbook, you'll learn how to:- Master conduit bending fundamentals and raceway system design
- Understand EMT, RMC, IMC, PVC, PVC-coated conduit, FMC, and LFMC applications
- Select the right conduit materials, fittings, and support systems
- Use hand, mechanical, electric, and hydraulic conduit benders correctly
- Apply trade math, geometry, trigonometry, multipliers, deduct, gain, and shrink calculations with confidence
- Fabricate precise stub-ups, offsets, rolling offsets, saddles, segment bends, concentric bends, and compound bends
- Coordinate multi-conduit installations and conduit bank layouts
- Cut, ream, thread, fabricate, and install rigid conduit and PVC systems
- Calculate conduit fill, pull tension, support spacing, and code-conscious raceway layouts
- Troubleshoot field problems, prepare for inspections, and use professional reference charts and worked examples to improve accuracy and productivity
Unlike basic field guides that cover only a handful of bending techniques, this handbook provides a complete learning path that integrates theory, calculations, fabrication, installation, and practical jobsite application into a single professional reference. Every chapter is structured to help you build confidence while producing cleaner, more accurate, and inspection-ready conduit installations.
Whether you're beginning your electrical career or refining years of field experience, this book will help you improve accuracy, reduce costly mistakes, and develop the skills to fabricate professional-quality conduit systems with confidence. Order your copy today and take your conduit bending expertise to the next level.
