A smart copy of the new and revised edition of this ornithological handbook for birds of Britain, with many illustrations. New and revised edition. Illustrated with thirty-five coloured plates. Collated complete. A detailed and comprehensive study of the bird residents, periodical migrants, and annual visitors to the British Isles, with an index to the records of the rarer visitants. This work contains chapters on various species, their habitats, characteristics, and songs. Written by James Edmund Harting, an English ornithologist and naturalist who authored numerous books. Illustrated by Professor Hermann Schlegel, a German ornithologist, herpetologist and ichthyologist. In the original brown cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the boards. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Contemporary ink inscription to the front endpaper. Very Good.
