Paperback. Happy and sad, light and dark: Herefordshire in full. Somewhere between the black-and-white timber frames of Hereford's old streets and the wide skies over Hay Bluff, ten stories are waiting to be told. A Hollywood film crew descends on a Herefordshire village - and an actress wonders where her life is going. A retired HR director takes over a haunted pub and serves its ghost a formal written warning. A museum's night watchman is confronted by a 17th-century soldier who has been asking the same question for nearly four hundred years. A UFO researcher from Bristol and a local plumber trade scepticism and stargaze their way into something neither expected. In a convent laundry in 1932, women's private lives and secrets are hidden from view. In these stories and more Hamnet's Regard reveals ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances - about grief and stubbornness, romance and mystery, the weight of history and the quiet persistence of hope.
