Incorporating new illustrations and introduction, this is a new edition of this guide to more than 530 European birds, with distribution maps and descriptions of all species regularly present in Europe. Lars Svensson is one of Europe's leading ornithologists, and a member of the taxonomic sub-committee of the British Ornithologists' Union. He is the author of the best-selling Collins Bird Guide, which is widely regarded as the definitive reference guide for European birders - though far too large to use in the field.
