Pre-Shakespearean accounts of the story of Hamlet are also included with extracts from Saxo Gramaticus' "Historica Danica" and Belleforest's "Histoires Tragiques". The editor has revised the "Criticism" section in order to accommodate significant interpretations published since the last edition.
