This book provides a comprehensive and practical framework for understanding, implementing, and maintaining halal compliance in accordance with the global halal standards and sustainability requirements.
As the global halal industry continues to expand rapidly, halal certification has grown from being a niche requirement to a competitive advantage in attracting diverse customer bases. Drawing on rigorous research and real-world insights, this book introduces the Halal Compliance Rating (HCR) framework―a tool developed to assess and enhance compliance while promoting sustainable business performance. It provides a step-by-step guide of the tool, illustrated with examples and other practical resources, and accounts for variations in standards and regulation across the world, including the United Kingdom, the United States, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) members, and Southeast Asia. An appendix with sample assessment checklists is also provided.
This book will appeal to restaurateurs aiming to achieve business excellence through a deeper commitment to halal standards. It will also be of interest to halal certification bodies and Islamic chambers of commerce.
