As Haimhard loses both his parents during the times of the plague in medieval Germany, he finds that the priest that so regularly came to visit, did so for a hidden reason. Living in the slums, Haimhard is used to poverty, but then, one day, tragedy strikes again, leaving him utterly alone in the world, or is he? With the visit from a stranger, his life changes forever, as Haimhard has a calling. In a time where people turned in their friends and family under suspicion of witchcraft, Haimhard is confronted by being born to magic, which will come upon him on his upcoming birthday.
