In homoeopathy, the mind has never been a secondary matter.

Hahnemann placed the patient’s disposition, emotional state, memory, understanding, and altered inner life at the centre of individualised prescribing. Yet in contemporary homoeopathic discussion, mental symptoms are often described through the language of psychology and psychoanalysis. Words such as repression, trauma, unconscious conflict, attachment, and abandonment may sound deeper, but do they truly lead the physician toward the simillimum?

Hahnemann Beyond Freud asks this question with clarity, restraint, and respect for both disciplines.

This book does not reject psychology or psychoanalysis as fields of study. It simply reminds the homoeopathic profession that prescribing must remain governed by Hahnemannian observation, characteristic symptoms, totality, materia medica, miasmatic understanding, and cure.

Drawing from the Organon of Medicine, The Chronic Diseases, Materia Medica Pura, and the logic of classical prescribing, this work shows that Hahnemann’s method already gives full therapeutic dignity to the mental and emotional life of the patient.

Written especially for BHMS students, postgraduate students, teachers, and practitioners, this book offers a thoughtful return to first principles. It helps the reader understand the difference between observing a patient’s mental state for remedy selection and interpreting that state through borrowed psychological explanations.

This is a timely book for those who wish to understand the mind in homoeopathy without losing the path to the remedy.

A scholarly and reflective work for serious students of Organon, Materia Medica, homoeopathic philosophy, and clinical method.
