Add to basketPaperback. You've been there: gauges connected, multimeter in hand, and the numbers still don't add up. You replace the part everyone replaces first. The callback comes anyway.HVAC Troubleshooting Handbook: A Diagnostic Reasoning Guide to Residential and Light Commercial Systems isn't another parts-swapping checklist. It teaches you to reason through a system the way the best techs in the trade actually do, so you land on the real cause the first time, not the third.Inside, you'll learn to: - Apply the four-stage diagnostic sequence, Observe, Verify, Isolate, Confirm, that separates true diagnosticians from parts-changers - Work confidently across furnaces, central AC, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and light commercial rooftop units, all from one reference - Verify refrigerant charge using superheat and subcooling methods, and recognize restriction, overcharge, and undercharge signatures on sight - Isolate electrical faults, airflow restrictions, and control-board issues using the same repeatable logic every time, on any system - Stay compliant with EPA Section 608, OSHA, and NEC requirements, and know what documentation protects you when a diagnosis gets questioned - Handle the moment after the diagnosis: explaining findings honestly and navigating the repair-versus-replace conversation with a customer who's waiting on an answerThis handbook moves through 17 chapters, from diagnostic fundamentals and safety protocols to system-specific troubleshooting, controls, and the regulatory realities of professional HVAC/R work, referenced throughout against current EPA, OSHA, and NFPA 70 requirements.Equipment keeps changing. Refrigerants shift, control boards get smarter, and every few years there's a new system to learn. The diagnostic reasoning in this handbook doesn't expire when the equipment does, because it was never about memorizing one system. It's about knowing how to think through any of them.Stop guessing. Start diagnosing. Get your copy of HVAC Troubleshooting Handbook today, and walk into your next service call already knowing how to find the problem that's actually there.
