Octavo, 6 volumes; illustrated. In Fair condition. Brown spines with faded gold tooling and red leather labels bearing faded gilt titling. Half bound in dark green leather, sunned to brown on spines, with teal and gold marbled paper boards. Wear to head and tail of spines, edges and corners of boards. Labels chipped. Text blocks have gilt top edge and marbled endpapers. Light age toning to paper with some ink transfer on pages adjacent to illustrations. Very slight occasional foxing, tanning to engraved title pages and frontispieces. CONTENTS: The History of Pendennis : His Fortunes and Misfortunes, His Friends and His Greatest Enemy / by William Makepeace Thackeray, with illustration on steel and wood by the author (2 vols.; 1849-1850; v. 1 has name in ink on p. 1, v. 2 has cracked front hinge with spine tear to engraved title page; viii, 384 pages & xii, 372 pages) - The Newcomes : Memoirs of a Most Respectable Family / edited by Arthur Pendennis, esq., with illustration on steel and wood by Richard Doyle (2 vols.; 1854-1855; both vols. have name in ink on title page, v. 1 cracked front hinge, v. 2 has moisture stain to top fore corner throughout; viii, 380 pages & viii, 375 pages) - The Virginians : a Tale of the Last Century / by W.M.
