Eight volumes, 8vo., pp.xxxii,415;x,425;viii,433;viii,410;viii,415;viii,428;x,412;ix,434, full calf, rebacked, decorative gilt rolled borders, contrasting labels and gilt decorations to compartments, marbled edges, ribbon markers, engraved frontispiece portrait after Sir Joshua Reynolds, engraved armorial bookplate to front paste-down endpaper of all volumes, smartly rebacked, with light wear to extremities of boards, a handsome set, fresh and bright within. Volume I includes a folding map and plan with hand-coloured details; Volume II contains a folding map and two single page maps; Volume III includes two folding maps, one of which has hand-coloured detailing; Volume IV contains a folding map of Europe, hand-coloured in outline; Volume V two b/w folding maps; Volume VI two folding maps, one hand-coloured and one hand-coloured in in outline; Volume VII contains a folding map of the Crusades, with hand-coloured details; and Volume VIII includes an uncoloured folding map of Ancient Rome.
