Published in Helston in 1883, this is an early printing of this small book on the Helston Flora day at the village of Helston in Cornwall, the book only runs to 16 pages and most of that is a long poem on the legend of its origins when locals thought they saw a fiery dragon in the skies, who thought the village was going to be destroyed, and upon their deliverance celebrated by dancing though each other?s houses. The book has been rebound in hardcovers, with the original front wrapper bound in, it also contains one loose photo of the Helston Flora day printed by a Helston studio in 1923, bound in before the book are two other photos, there is the bookplate of the then owner who was probably the person who had the hardcover binding put on the book around 1961. The hardcover binding has a little wear at corners else in good condition, internally browning to endpapers else in good condition. The binder has bulked out the thickness of the book by adding blank pages to the rear. Seller Inventory # 004040
