Sofia is a brilliant mechanical engineering student with a rare gift: she can "hear" engines beyond what the telemetry shows.
Lukas is an elite mechanic, a man with a shadowy past and a rugged charm, who lives between the roar of the pit lane and the silence of his own secrets.
Monza is not a place for everyone. It’s a world made of deafening noise, the smell of gasoline that fills your lungs, and a heat rising from the asphalt that leaves you breathless. Here, you’re either fast or you’re nobody.
Sofia knows this all too well. She’s the kind of girl who always stays in the background, wearing her dark jeans and carrying the aura of someone who doesn't want to be bothered. Many look at her simply because she’s beautiful, but no one realizes she knows more than the veteran mechanics. Sofia has a gift: she only needs to listen to an exhaust note to understand exactly what’s wrong with an engine. She has learned to keep quiet and protect herself behind a cold demeanor because in this environment, if you're a woman, you have to work twice as hard to earn respect.
Then there’s Lukas. He is the exact opposite: blonde, confident, a natural talent who seems to have the world at his feet. He works at the very heart of speed, and everyone admires him. He’s used to calling the shots and never making a mistake—until his eyes meet Sofia's. That girl doesn’t look at him the way others do; she challenges him, and with a single phrase, she manages to throw him off balance and, at the same time, save him.
This is the story of two people who shouldn't have anything in common, but who discover they are cut from the same cloth. Between one race and the next, amidst social media posts and garage challenges, Lukas and Sofia will come to realize that the only thing harder to fix than a broken engine is a heart that’s afraid to trust.
Buckle up. The race has just begun.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
