About the Author:

Dr Linda Papadopoulos is a Chartered Psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. She has authored nine books both academic and mainstream and has worked across various treatment settings both privately, and within the NHS. As well as an accomplished academic career where she has set up and headed successful post-graduate and doctoral programmes in Counselling Psychology, she is also an active researcher. Her work has informed government policy and in 2010 she headed up a highly acclaimed independent review for the Home Office on the effects of sexualisation on young people. She has sat on medical advisory boards and her research into Body Image and Psychodermatology has informed clinical treatment guidelines. Her 21 year career as a researcher and practicing psychologist has led to her work being published in some of the most highly regarded academic journals and has given rise to a high profile media career. She has fronted several television shows and is a regular commentator on psychological issues across broadcast, radio and print media. Her comments regarding the psychology behind news and current affairs are often syndicated by the press and discussed by TV and radio networks both in the UK and US.
