About this Item

This is a UK SIXTH edition hardcover published by William Blackwood and Sons in 1858. The photos show the condition better than I can describe, however overall I am grading the book as Good condition for its age. The book has a straight spine with firm corners and scuffing to the bottom of the spine. The interior sees the seam joining the end papers to the boards is split front and back but the spine and boards are still affixed to the text block. The page edges are toned but the interior text and end papers is clean, but off-white due to age. The title page confirms the SIXTH edition. Seller Inventory # 015824

I charge shipping that reflects my actual costs. I do NOT offer cheap shipping and add it to the book price so please do not complain to me that Bob down the road offers cheaper postage. Sure he does - but the price of his book is hiked to reclaim it, or you're referring to a power seller who can negotiate postage discounts. I can't - I'm a private individual selling my private collection. ABE only allows me to set one postage rate so I charge the rate for hardbacks sent in a box with bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts. Where postage is less - eg a paperback or small hardback - I refund the difference once I get my receipts and know the exact cost. Tracking is NOT provided automatically on UK parcels - you have to choose priority mail AND pay an additional �7 postage on top.
