Publisher's textured green cloth with blind stamped decoration, gilt titling to the front board, very good light wear only. Contents clean and tight, previous owner's signature, original end papers, the front paste-down very slightly stained, joints firm. A very good copy, far better than normal. [Notes: it was Gosse who coined the name 'aquarium', the adverts at the rear cover one Gosse title per page, with detailed descriptions of the following: Marine Natural History Class, British Sea-Anemones, A Naturalist's Rambles on the Devonshire Coast, The Aquarium, A Manual of Marine Zoology, and Tenby] .
