From the flap: "In the 1960s Kimberly-Clark commissioned a series of twenty-four paintins commemorating milestones in the history of graphic communication. The thread that runs through this history is the power of the individual: the master craftsman who dreams, designs, creates, builds, and changes some aspect of how print is made, and thus changes how society communicates. The hand of a master is present in every painting depicting every achievement." "Hand of a Master was produced between December 2001 and May 2002 by a group of eight Rochester Institute of Technology students. It is one of the first New Media Senior Projects to be completed at RIT. This diverse group of students collaborated to research the history of the graphic arts, with an emphasis on the Kimberly-Clark series of paintings. The paintins, which document the history of graphic communication, have been a beloved feature of the School of Print Media since their arrival at RIT in the 1970s. The school is an ideal location for the paintings: it is known worldwide for its dedication to graphic arts eduction. Each student contributed their unique skils in design, printing, publishing, and information technology to create a cross-media masterpiece. The project also includes a DVD documentary, variable-data calendars, and Website, poster-size inkjet reproductions of the paintings, and a six-foot long timeline.". Seller Inventory # 138772
