A red Wayfarer's Library edition of H.G. Wells' comic novel The Wheels of Chance. The hero of The Wheels of Chance, Mr. Hoopdriver, is a frustrated "draper's assistant" in Putney, a badly paid, grinding position (and one which Wells briefly held); and yet he owns a bicycle and is setting out on a bicycling tour of "the Southern Coast" on his annual ten days' holiday. A gem among a bounty of out of print, rare and stunning vintage books on our second hand bookstore. Title: The Wheels of Chance Author: H.G. Wells Publisher: J.M Dent Publication Date: Undated Format: Hardback Condition: This book is in good condition for its age other than some minor signs of wear. Discoloured spine with fraying ends, age spots to endpapers, otherwise clean pages.
