Gynecologic oncology becomes difficult when diagnosis, staging, pathology, treatment planning, and clinical management have to be considered together.
Are you a gynecologic oncology fellow looking for a practical clinical reference rather than another massive textbook? Are you an oncology trainee preparing for a rotation in gynecologic oncology? Do you need a structured way to approach ovarian, cervical, endometrial, vulvar, and vaginal malignancies? Are you looking for a clinical guide that brings staging, treatment planning, surgery, systemic therapy, surveillance, and follow up into one organized reference?
Because gynecologic oncology requires more than knowing individual diseases, this book is organized around the clinical reasoning that connects presentation, diagnostic evaluation, cancer staging, treatment planning, and ongoing management. It provides a focused reference to major gynecologic malignancies while addressing the practical concepts trainees encounter during oncology rotations and fellowship training. The material is designed to complement, rather than replace, comprehensive specialty textbooks and current clinical guidelines.
Imagine having a single clinical reference that moves from the initial evaluation of a patient through the major considerations involved in staging and management. What happens when the clinical presentation, pathology findings, imaging, and stage must be considered together? What questions should guide the next step? How do the major treatment approaches fit into the broader management plan? These are the types of clinical questions the book is designed to organize and explain.
The book is written primarily for gynecologic oncology fellows and oncology trainees, with relevance for senior OB/GYN residents and clinicians seeking a structured review of gynecologic malignancies. It covers major disease groups including ovarian, cervical, endometrial, vulvar, and vaginal cancers, together with clinical evaluation, staging principles, treatment planning, surgical considerations, systemic treatment concepts, recurrence, surveillance, and related areas of gynecologic oncology practice.
The chapters are arranged for educational clarity, moving from foundational principles into disease specific evaluation and management. Major concepts are explained in a clinically oriented sequence so that readers can connect individual topics rather than encountering them as isolated facts. The result is a focused reference for readers who want to understand how the major components of gynecologic oncology fit together within clinical training and practice.
