The author draws on her own clinical practice to explain how chronic guilt and pessimism can affect health and offers a recovery regimen based on affirmation, forgiveness, and love

EVERYONE CARRIES GUILT WITH THEM AS PART OF THEIR PSYCHOLOGICAL MAKE UP – BUT THERE IS AN EASIER WAY

This inspirational work explores how chronic self blame and pessimism can lead to physical, emotional and spiritual distress. It will guide you on a healing voyage of recovery as you learn to release the toxin of guilt from your mind and body and help you to achieve a refreshed sense of well being.

In her work at Harvard's mind/body clinic, Dr Borysenko encountered many patients whose physical illness did not respond to her treatment. Looking deeper, she discovered that the illness seemed likened to metaphysical problems, to a spiritual pessimism of guilt which coloured the lives of the patients concerned.

Using case history examples, affirmations, exercises and guided meditations, she helps readers to overcome their own toxic guilt and learn to embrace a new philosophy of spiritual optimism based on unconditional love, and compassion and forgiveness for others and themselves. This book will provide hope and spiritual refreshment for anyone suffering from feelings of unworthiness or dissatisfaction.

Dr Borysenko has been called 'a rare jewel: respected scientist, gifted therapist, and unabashed mystic'.
