Acquire the fundamental skills necessary to confidently manage smaller vessels with A Guide to Small Boat Handling. This practical collection compiles historical boating articles written by experienced mariners and instructors, focusing on the basics of handling rowing boats and small motor boats under various conditions.
Drawn from classic maritime publications (often spanning the early to mid-20th century), this volume is an essential primer for anyone new to operating watercraft. It emphasizes the foundational principles of physics and control that apply regardless of whether the boat is powered by oars, sail, or a small engine, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
This book is a timeless classic for beginners, small craft owners, fishermen, and maritime historians seeking the authentic, time-tested wisdom on the safe and skillful handling of non-sailing small boats.
