Paperback. Sophia Carter is one month from taking the bar when her boyfriend, Malcolm, sends a glass cat backward in time-and TQ Labs is already waiting. Owned by tech billionaire Daniel Mirac, the secretive laboratory uses an "oracle" to receive messages from a fixed future, allowing them to intercept independent inventors before they can cause a paradox. Soon, its agents arrive with lucrative job offers, movers already scheduled, and a gun in case Sophia and Malcolm mistake the offer for a choice.Reduced to stocking the company break room while Malcolm revels in his cushy new role, Sophia becomes little more than an accessory in the male-dominated lab that's shaping the future. But when she decides to fight her way from overlooked assistant to an indispensable part of TQ Labs, a stolen glimpse of tomorrow reveals what her continued surrender will cost-not just for her, but for everyone. The future cannot be changed. All will come to pass. To remain herself, Sophia must outmaneuver a destiny that has already accounted for every act of defiance-but is she fighting her way free, or following the path that will place her in Mirac's hands? A time-travel thriller where an overlooked secretary at a tech-startup must find away to evade a future that cannot be changed. This item is printed on demand.
