Paperback. Journey beyond the headlines and misconceptions into the heart of one of the world's most ancient and enigmatic faiths. For centuries, the Yezidi people and their beliefs have been shrouded in mystery and subjected to devastating persecution. In 'The Yezidi Faith Explained', you are invited to look beneath the wings of the Peacock Angel, Melek Taus, to discover the true cosmology and profound spirituality of this resilient religion. This meticulously researched guide dismantles harmful stereotypes, presenting an authentic exploration of the Yezidi genesis story, the central role of the sacred Lalish sanctuary, and the power of oral traditions that have preserved a people's memory against all odds. Understand the complex history of the 73 'fermans' (decrees of persecution) that have shaped Yezidi identity, culminating in the horrific 74th ferman, the ISIS genocide. By exploring the rhythms of Yezidi life, their relationship with Abrahamic traditions, and their struggle for survival in the 21st century, this book offers not just knowledge, but a vital human connection. It is an essential read for anyone seeking to understand the enduring light of a faith that has refused to be extinguished. This item is printed on demand.
