About this title

Synopsis

Does your child feel nervous or scared during thunderstorms?
Grumpy Clouds With Lightning Farts transforms stormy weather into laughter, comfort, and fun!

When storm clouds gather, Malina Monkey and Maila Moose huddle close to Mommy Monkey and Daddy Moose. To ease their fears, Mommy Monkey weaves a whimsical tale about two grumpy clouds—Feortan (Fartin’) and Claptrap—whose lightning farts light up the sky. What once felt scary now becomes hilarious!

After the story, the family turns to a song and calming strategies, helping children discover that even the loudest thunderstorms can be filled with comfort, fun, and connection.

This sensory-friendly children’s book is designed for kids ages 1–18 (and beyond!) who may struggle with anxiety, fear of storms, or sensory processing challenges. With humor, song, and therapeutic tools, it gives children (and caregivers) a new way to face fears.

🌧️ Children will learn to:
• Replace fear of thunder and lightning with laughter and curiosity
• Recognize and express feelings safely
• Practice calming strategies through story, song, and play
• Build resilience and courage when facing fears

💙 Adults will gain:
• A comforting tool for guiding kids through storm anxiety
• Exposure therapy exercises that support emotional growth
• Fun rainy-day activities for family connection
• Practical ways to teach that all feelings are valid—even the scary ones

Written by Jennifer Nguyen, a mother of two, this heart warming story blends empathy, humor, and therapeutic strategies to create a resource that’s as entertaining as it is helpful.

📖 Inside the book you’ll find:
✔ A silly and heartwarming story
✔ A sing-along song for calming nerves
✔ Rainy-day activities and therapy-based exercises
