What happens when the unexplained follows a family from one home to another and refuses to disappear?
David A. Landry was only six years old when ordinary family life in Lowell, Massachusetts, began to change.
At first, the incidents seemed easy to dismiss: an unfamiliar sound, an object out of place, or a movement seen from the corner of an eye. But as the disturbances became more frequent, Landry and his family found themselves confronting events they could not explain.
A beloved great-grandmother appears after her death. A kitchen chair moves without anyone touching it. A beer can slides across a table in front of several witnesses. Doors open by themselves. Voices whisper through empty rooms. A dark figure later recognized by many as the Hat Man brings one of the most terrifying encounters of Landry’s childhood.
And moving away does not end the activity.
In Growing Up with the Supernatural: Part I The Beginning, Landry recounts decades of extraordinary family experiences, including:
- Apparitions, shadow figures, and unexplained voices
- Moving objects and poltergeist-like disturbances
- Encounters involving a Ouija board and a séance
- A mysterious gravestone connected to escalating activity
- Near-death experiences and possible visitations from deceased relatives
- Events witnessed by skeptical family members
- The lasting emotional effects of living with the unexplained
Written for believers, skeptics, and curious readers alike, this deeply personal memoir does not demand that anyone accept a particular explanation. Landry presents the events as he remembers them and leaves the final judgment to the reader.
Were these experiences coincidence, imagination, misunderstood natural events or evidence of something beyond our understanding?
