Synopsis:

The vehicle routing problem (VRP) is one of the most difficult combinatorial optimization problems that may be encountered. Due to its extensive use and economic significance in the distribution system by optimizing operating costs, as well as gas emission. It was initially introduced by Dantzig and Ramser [1] as the truck dispatching problem, the VRP has been a more interesting research area over time. VRP is a multi vehicle version of the traveling salesman problem (TSP), VRP is tough to solve compared to TSP as it covers multiple customers, multiple vehicles in addition to optimization of resources. According to the literature, the fundamental VRP consists of a collection of vehicles, customers, and a depot. When it comes to planning least-cost routes for identical vehicles with known capacity, it may be characterized as the challenge of routing vehicles from a central depot to a collection of geographically scattered customers with non- negative demand. Finding a solution to the Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) and its interrelated variations is an interesting domain of Operations Research (OR), which has drawn attention currently. Effective decision support models which can be implemented in FL and RL are being developed at present in the pursuit of cost decrease and for minimization resource depletion as well as minimize the harmful vehicle gas emission in to the environment. It is expected that each customer would receive complete service just once (typically by one vehicle). The overall demand as well as the length of a route must not be greater than the total capacity as well as the total distance driven by a vehicle on the route. After providing service to the customers who have been allocated to them, the vehicles will return to the depot.
