Item description from seller

Subscribers edition, numbered 118/350. The Green Frog Service was commissioned from Wedgwood by Catherine the Great in 1773. The original Service of 944 pieces contained 1222 different views of Britain. 770 pieces survive at The Hermitage. Green cloth covers in slipcase, large quarto, pp.424 with over 1,200 b/w photographs and a good number of pages of colour plates. Includes list of artists from whose work the transfers were made. Fascinating stuff if distracting to catalogue! Came from Library of one of Subscribers.
