Synopsis: In a city where the wind carried the scent of cinnamon and smoke, Elowen Wilson worked quietly in her small bakery, her hands shaping dough that held more than simple nourishment-it carried a subtle magic, a warmth that lingered in the hearts of those who tasted it. The people of Chicoro, as they fondly called their Chicago, knew her only as a gifted baker, unaware that her creations softened burdens they could not name. Above the city, her brother Brennan stood watch, a guardian bound to the skies. When distant dragons threatened, his companion Emberclaw answered with fire and flight, keeping the streets below safe from harm. Far across the sea, their cousin Emrys sailed the waters of Valencia Isle, battling creatures that stirred beneath the waves alongside his own dragon, Tidebreaker, all of them unknowingly bound to a greater purpose that stretched beyond distance or time.
At the center of this unseen design stood Queen Linara of the Great Lakes line, her palace shimmering near the Lakes of Detroit, her presence both distant and ever near. She moved between worlds with quiet grace, guiding her scattered family with wisdom earned long before their time. Yet on this morning, something shifted. A stillness settled over Chicoro, an unease felt in flour-dusted hands, in restless wings, and in troubled waters. Even Linara, gazing into the depths of magic itself, saw shadows moving where none should be-an omen of something ancient and powerful awakening.
What began as ordinary days-bread rising, dragons flying, waves rolling-was already giving way to something far greater. For Elowen, Brennan, and Emrys, the world they knew was changing, drawing them toward a mystery older than legend and deeper than magic itself. The call had begun, and none of them would be untouched by what was coming.
Autobiography: Dr. James M. Copas, LLM., LLM., is a lifelong student of the law, a passionate writer, and a storyteller at heart. Born and raised in Hamilton, Ohio, his journey has taken him through distinguished academic institutions, including Miami University AA, BA, the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, JURIS DOCTOR, Stetson University College of Law, The John Marshall Law School, and the University of Illinois Law School at Chicago, where he pursued advanced legal studies in international law and intellectual property.
Yet beyond his accomplishments in law, this book reveals another side of Dr. Copas-one rooted in imagination, faith, and the enduring power of family. Inspired by what he describes as a God-given spark, he brings to life a world where dragons soar, courage is tested, and love remains the greatest force of all.
At the heart of his storytelling is a deep devotion to family, especially to his beloved wife, Lynnette, and the joy and wonder of her grandchildren, whose laughter and imagination helped shape the spirit of this tale. Through this work, Dr. Copas invites readers of all ages to rediscover the magic of storytelling, the strength of kindness, and the beauty of shared adventure.
This book stands as both a journey into a fantastical world and a reflection of the very real love that inspired it.
