Store description

My name is Nikki and I am the owner of The Bookish Stitch. I'm currently 45 and living with my family in beautiful Cedar Rapids, IA. I really love my community in Cedar Rapids and we have really grown into our acreage. The business had humble beginnings, but continues to grow and now includes handcrafted items my husband makes. He is a veteran and an extremely talented wood and metal worker - we will continue to bring more goods in as we can. I started by reselling my own clothes on Poshmark (clothing) and I soon realized that I am really good at this. I have a business & marketing background, specialize in inventory and optimization in many levels, love clothes, books, crafts (shopping in general) and purchasing and figured...why shouldn't I make this into a business? With that thought, Stylized Thrift Boutique started very slowly in October 2018. Things started on one platform and over time evolved into our own brand, 1,000s of items, 8 platforms including this website and we are now bringing in handcrafted wood and iron working! This business is extremely rewarding in many ways that make it a joy on a daily basis. Bringing great fashion and goods at an affordable price to people all around the United States and abroad - while also helping our world be more sustainable and less wasteful...is an awesome feeling! Books have always been a passion of my life. I can remember my gorgeous small town library back home, our summer programs and of course...Book It!! Books changed my life in so many ways. Although my business started in clothing, it has further evolved to carry thousands of books as well as crafting items. During my trips to estate sales and other avenues, I came to the sad reality of how many books end up thrown away and discarded. A collector myself, a new division of my business was launched and it is now my largest area. I specialize in "vintage" and "antique" books that are harder to find. You will not find many new releases unless they are in a craft or specialized area. With the update to more books and all things crafts, we rebranded to The Bookish Stitch in 2025. Thank you for your time and for supporting my small business!
