This book highlights the properties of nanocomposite material, especially with inputs from the interphase effects, which are crucial for their diverse applications. It comprises chapters on graphene as a revolutionary material with exceptional electronic, optical, mechanical and thermal properties, and extraordinary properties of graphene based polymer composite materials, especially emphasizing on important role of the filler/matrix interphase areas. The applications of these composite nanomaterials are briefly discussed throughout the book. In particular, there is currently an outburst in studying polymer-based nanocomposites for various functional applications such as energy storage, thermoelectrics, stretchable electronics, electromagnetic shielding, super-capacitors and lithium-ion batteries. Emphasis is also given to the impact of the nanocomposites on advanced healthcare materials, drug delivery and biomedical applications.

About the Author
Dr. Andriy Nadtochiy is a Senior Researcher at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. His research interests are thermoelectric performance of nanomaterials, ultrasonic transducers and sensors, high intensity ultrasound and sonochemistry, and modeling with the finite element method.
Dr. Alla Gorb obtained her Doctoral degree in the field of solid state physics, from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. She is currently Researcher at Ceneral Physics, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Her research interests include polymer nanocomposites, low-dimensional semiconductor structures, and ultrasonic waves in hybrid structures.
Dr. Borys Gorelov is a Head of the department of composite materials at Chuiko Institute of Surface Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kyiv. He was also the principal investigator at V. Lashkarev Institute of Semiconductor Physics, Kyiv. His research is devoted to physical chemistry of nanostructured
material, in particular- material science and technology of functional composites, phase instabilities in external fields, electron paramagnetic resonance, diffusion of radioactive tracers, mass spectrometry, and lifetime
positron annihilation in nanocomposites.
Dr. Oleksiy Polovina is a Researcher at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. He holds M.Sc. in general physics and Ph.D. in solid state physics from the University of Kyiv. His research work includes polymer
nanocomposites, physical acoustics of solids, the development of ultrasonic transducers and sensors, and computer modeling. He has expertise on advanced measurements of mechanical and acoustical properties of composite materials, modeling and numerical computations of acoustic vibrations in various hybrid structures, project management to guide research and technicaldesign, including business planning.
Dr. Oleg Korotchenkov obained his Ph.D. in solid state physics from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. He held several research positions at the Department of Solid State Physics, Lund University, Lund,
Sweden, Department of Physics, Graduate School of Science, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, Department of Physics, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, Materials Science Institute, Universitat de Valéncia, Valéncia, Spain. He is currently Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. His research interest includes thermoelectric and photovoltaic behavior of semiconductor nanomaterials, probing interphase regions in nanocomposite materials, ultrasonic processing of Si and SiGe surfaces.
